We celebrate the event where The Icelandic Minister of Environment and director of Katla UNESCO Global Geopark signed a contract this week of governmental financial support of Katla Unesco Global Geopark - Iceland for the next five years.
Víkurskóli became a formal Geoschool on 24th May 2017. Signing of contracts was out in the nature at Sólheimasandur. The signing was combined with a fieldtrip with the students. Víkurskóli has been very active in Geoweek of Katla Geopark, with emphasis on nature related projects for students during that week. Katla Geopark and Víkurskóli look forward to working together.
