Volcano Huts join the Katla UNESCO Global Geopark team!

Volcano Huts, a company located in the heart of Þórsmörk, have joined the Katla Geopark team as a Geo-company!

We met with CEO and partner - Bjarni Freyr - at their cabin in Húsadalur to review and sign a contract, making Volcano Huts a part of Katla UNESCO Global Geopark. They thereby promise to uphold the values of UNESCO Global Geoparks to promote sustainability, responsible tourism, increase and uphold education, geological and cultural heritage, and support local production and services.

We would like to proudly welcome Volcano Huts to the Katla Geopark family and we look tremendously forward to a bright future with our newest member!

But what are these so-called Volcano Huts?

Volcano Huts are located in the Þórsmörk nature reserve in Iceland, situated in the Húsadalur valley, between towering glaciers and volcanoes. The area can best be described as a hikers paradise where you will find endless hiking trails that lead you through beautiful, volcanic landscapes. Here you will experience Icelandic nature at its best and meet interesting people that share your passion for nature and adventure.

Accommodation and other services can be booked through our website www.volcanohuts.com.
