Katla Geopark participated in Mannamót - tourism trade show

Katla Geopark participated in Mannamót, the annual tourism trade show and festival/conference, where companies and institutions, from all over Iceland, gather and introduce their tourism offer and destinations to tourism representatives, as well as each other.

Mannamót is an annual event taking place in Kópavogur, hosted by six marketing offices around Iceland, Eagle Air airline, and Isavia the Icelandic airport operator. Around 250 companies take part with invitations being sent out to travel agencies and tour operators, employees at hotels and guesthouses, information centers, airlines, guides, tourism students and teachers, Promote Iceland and PR offices, the Icelandic Tourist Board, the government of tourism, and other parties interested in or working in tourism.

The Geopark participated by introducing its area and operations, its partner companies, the new contract with the GEOFOOD brand and signed partners, along with introducing some of its main international projects such as GEOFOOD-EDU and Ruritage that aim to strengthen the area as a tourism destination by promoting the local offer. Four representatives took part on behalf of the Geopark, one from each municiality that represents the Geopark in each area, along with the Director of Katla Geopark, Berglind Sigmundsdóttir.

After two long years with covid restrictions, it was nice to finally meet up and see each other again! It is evident that everyone is looking forward to a busy summer with many bookings arriving now after the pandemic.
