Research

The Geopark leads one student research project with Víkurskóli elementary school in Vik but plans in the future to start similar student research projects in Hvolsskóli and Kirkjubæjarskóli elementary schools within the Geopark. The student project in Víkurskóli elementary school is called The Víkurfjara Beach Project and aims to research and monitor the stability of the coastline in front of the village of Vík. More information, along with the results from the research so far, is available on the sub-site Víkurjfara Beach Project page.
